Re: Terri Schiavo

Since the initial withdrawal of hydration and nourishment from Terri Schiavo on Wednesday October 15, 2003 The Advocacy Center has received numerous complaints of possible neglect concerning Ms. Schiavo. Additionally we have received reports that there may have been a change in circumstance regarding Ms. Schiavo’s condition since the last full review in State Court.

It is The Advocacy Center’s federal mandate (pursuant to 29 U.S.C. §794(a) (doc 1) and 42 U.S.C.§1504 3(a)(2)(B) as the designated Protection and Advocacy Agency for the State of Florida to investigate complaints of abuse and/or neglect against persons with disabilities.

The Center is presently making demands in order to acquire reports and records necessary to undertake a thorough and impartial investigation of complaints we have received.

In order to preserve the integrity of our investigation during its pendency no further statement will be made to the Press.

please make sure to get them to Larry King by whatever means you
can.

Suggested questions to be asked of Michael Schiavo, by Larry King,
for the family and the public who yearn for the TRUTH, while all of
Florida's law enforcement refuses to investigate because they are
being told not to by higher ups:

1. What happened that night Terri collapsed?

2. Why did Terri collapse?

3. What time did Terri collapse?

4. Was Terri getting ready to ask for a divorce?

5. Why did you first call Terri's father and not 911?

6. Why was Terri still lying on the floor face down with hands
towards her neck and arms under her chest, when Bobby got
there?

7. Why didn't you turn her over and place her on her back?

8. Why did it take you so long to call 911?

9. Why did you call Terri's father first?

10. Why didn't you give Terri CPR before arrival of the paramedics?

11. Did you call attorney Greico first?

12. Why do a dozen doctors say that there are no normal markers
that remain after a person has experienced a heart attack?

13. Why was Terri denied the sacrament of Holy Communion by a
Catholic priest?

14. Why can't Terri have flowers in her room?

15. Why didn't you fix Terri's wheelchair?

16. Why is Terri forbidden to go outside with her Mother?

17. You made a vow to carry out her wishes, why haven't your
honored your wedding vows?

18. How much do you stand to benefit from Terri's death monetarily
or otherwise?

19. Why did you say recently that Terri died in your arms, when you
were not saying that before and during the malpractice lawsuit?

20. How can you call yourself Terri's husband when in fact you have
been involved in a fornicating adulterous relationship with
another woman for over 8 years and are the father of her 2
children?

21. Why is Terri not allowed to be visited by all of the people she
has ever known in her life? Are you afraid they might see
"something"?

22. If you are so confident about Terri's "PVS" diagnosis, why
won't you release medical records so her parents can see for
themselves?

23. In 2002, why did Judge David Seth Walker (now retired) not
consider removing food and hydration from David Bryer saying,
"You feed goldfish, yet your Judge Greer has ordered YOU to
cause Terri's death by dehydration and starvation when David
Bryer had no written advance directives either?

24. Why did Michael put Terri's cats to sleep shortly after her
"collapse"?

25. Do you receive compensation as a board member of Jerger and
Centonze (fiancee) Insurance Co. which has the address of your
residence?

Ask Michael what his account is of the night before and that early
morning of Terri's collapse, and then compare to the account of the
family given below.

Chronological account:

Something happened. Terri collapses in the hallway next to the
bathroom. She goes down flat on her face with her arms underneath
her body passed out. Instead of calling 911, Michael calls Terri's
father first, or his attorney. Bob Sr. says hang up and call 911.
Then Bob Sr. calls Bob Jr. who lives in the same apartment complex
and tells him to get over to Terri's place. Bob Jr. gets there
within two minutes after his dad calls him. Bobby walks in. Terri
is lying face down on the floor in the hallway and was making a
kind of snoring sound. The paramedics get there. Schiavo opens the
door and lets the paramedics into the apt. But Schiavo has been
consistently telling everybody that he was cradling Terri in his
arms when the paramedics got there, when in fact upon Bobby's
arrival she was face down on the floor with her hands to her neck.
Bobby walks over trying to nudge his sister awake. Paramedics
arrive and Schiavo lets them in. How could Michael have been
cradling Terri and answer the door to let the paramedics in at the
same time? And so many more questions go unanswered to resolve
these suspicious circumstances that remain about Terri's collapse.

She had no heart attack. What really happened? And why is there
this insistence to cause her death by dehydration and starvation?

Michael has moved on with his life. Why does he not let Terri move
on with her LIFE too by just getting a divorce, splitting the
marital assets so she would have rehabilitation money again by the
sale of her interest in the Marie Court house and other assets, and
let her LIVE with DIGNITY?

An attempt has been made on the life of Terri Schiavo, and the attempted murderers should be prosecuted. Murder is murder if it is a quick or a slow death.
Michael Schiavo choose the slow death for Terri, and has attempted to bring in we the people as accompolices. We
have every right to scream about this, for it is a crime against God and mankind. "God said, Thou shalt not kill".

Praise God and let's hope for the best. Michael Schiavo and George Felos can't possibly be pulling the strings on every agency in the state of Florida. Keep in mind that this is the same agency, I believe, that tried to halt Terri's execution in order to conduct furthur investigation and I read on another thread that they do have rather extensive investigative powers. We have to believe that there are some who will act in good faith on Terri's behalf. What good is it to pray if we do not believe that our prayers are answered? I do understand the frustration though.

That's an easy one. He was still trying to get money for Terri's "care." Besides, he didn't "recollect" that she would want to die till 8 years later.

Abstract: The hyoid is the U-shaped bone of the neck that is fractured in one-third of all homicides by strangulation. On this basis, postmortem detection of hyoid fracture is relevant to the diagnosis of strangulation. However, since many cases lack a hyoid fracture, the absence of this finding does not exclude strangulation as a cause of death. The reasons why some hyoids fracture and others do not may relate to the nature and magnitude of force applied to the neck, age of the victim, nature of the instrument (ligature or hands) used to strangle, and intrinsic anatomic features of the hyoid bone. We compared the case profiles and xeroradiographic appearance of the hyoids of 20 victims of homicidal strangulation with and without hyoid fracture (n = 10, each). The fractured hyoids occurred in older victims of strangulation (39 ± 14 years) when compared to the victims with unfractured hyoids (30 ± 10 years). The age-dependency of hyoid fracture correlated with the degree of ossification or fusion of the hyoid synchondroses. The hyoid was fused in older victims of strangulation (41 ± 12 years) whereas the unfused hyoids were found in the younger victims (28 ± 10 years). In addition, the hyoid bone was ossified or fused in 70% of all fractured hyoids, but, only 30% of the unfractured hyoids were fused. The shape of the hyoid bone was also found to differentiate fractured and unfractured hyoids. Fractured byoids were longer in the anterior-posterior plane and were more steeply sloping when compared with unfractured hyoids. These data indicate that hyoids of strangulation victims, with and without fracture, are distinguished by various indices of shape and rigidity. On this basis, it may be possible to explain why some victims of strangulation do not have fractured hyoid bones.
