Part of the responsibility of owning a gun is the training when to use it.

Shooting someone in the back while fleeing is illegal

I agree. But you will find that some posters on FR believe that training is "infringement" and think the poor kid got what he deserved. Sad.

was he fleeing? Was it lit? Was he turning to flee or was he reaching for a weapon? Did this kid have anything which could be mistaken for a gun/weapon? Was it a ring of the doorbell? Banging on the door? Did the kid say anything? (let me in NOW!) This article's information is incomplete.

Keep in mind too, the police did not take this man into custody. There is clearly more to this story than in the leftist palm beach post.

Whatever you do , you never know what the outcome will be. That is why what ever you do , you have got to know that sometimes things happen.

Mischief = stuff happens
This is not the first time someone has gotten killed fooling around. sad.

Any kid, especially one that is as big as a pro football player, that comes knocking on doors with mischevious intent after dark is asking for trouble. Period.

What do you think the punk did once unsuspecting folks opened the door? Smile and introduce himself as a neighbor?

More than likely, he did something that was intented to scare the hell out of the homeowner, which probably involved the threat of some use of force.

The homeowner had the smarts to get a CCW permit so he could defend himself. He also has the smarts to not be talking to press. He's done two things right, while the only thing the perp has going for him is that his worthless family thinks he a "good kid that didn't deserve to die". We've only heard their side of the story, because the homeowner is very wisely not talking to the press.

Also, the police did not arrest the homeowner. That should tell you something also.

It is such a sad situation. People this day and age
just simply do not love each other enough. Perhaps
we need God's help in this category.

Training is not an infringement -- and no one I know ever said it was, so your post is inaccurate at best.

In fact, training is our friend.

However, MANY of us say (and correctly, so) that state-mandated training requirements are an infringement.

Care to refute me based on the wording of the Second Amendment?

Do you also support state-mandated potty training?

A number of years ago, some local teen boys were harassing my family's house. They would drive by our house late at night and stop--and wait. When my Mom went to the window, they would speed up and drive off. It frightened my Mom, she was getting paranoid over the whole thing. Fortunately, my Dad had a gun--just in case. The harassment eventually stopped, but we still remember the fear.
