"I thought the origin came from that old Tom Posten movie from the '60s."I always thought it was used first in the Johnny Hart B.C. comicstrip, for whenever the lightning struck somebody for whatever reason.

I think you've got it backwards. ZOT was the sound made by the anteater as he...well, zotted...ants with his tongue.

Aha! That's where I saw it. The anteater. I knew it was BC, but forgot the context. Thanks for the memories.

Back in the 60's, when I was about 10 or so, I started buying BC paperback books at a bookstore. I'd stay up late at night reading them and laughing like a madman. My poor mother would get up out of bed in the middle of the night to tell me to be quiet (didn't do much good).
My wife and I went home this past Christmas to stay with my mother. One day I was rooting around in a bookshelf in the basement, and found one of those old BC books ("BC is Alive and Well"). The first page had me laughing my head off all over again.

Don't blame me that someone bounced a thread from Oct 2003. When I initially posted this thread, the image worked. In fact, that's on one of my Sites and Yahoo appears to be choked for some reason. That's a paid site that allows blind linking. It's got 5GB of available transfer left.

ROTFL! Thanks so much for posting that. Mr. Ditter, who freeps occasionally is always asking me what is a zot, viking kitty or a mod. My explanations always leave him wondering. This should fix him up. ;9)
