Bill, I have been fighting this war of strategy for five years, since the March for Justice. One of the problems we have is we do not recognize who are enemy really is.

Our fight isn't with ANSWER. Every time we knock a few of them out ten more show up to take their place. Our enemy isn't the DNC, that's mostly politics and if they were to go away there would be another party formed to take their place.

Our fight is for the hearts and souls of Americans and our enemy is the established liberal institutions that propagandize and pollute the minds of good intentioned people. We don't lose because our beliefs are not sound, we lose because our enemy controls 80% of the means of information dissemination in this country. People don't vote for liberals because libs are right, it's because they don't know any better. They get indoctrinated at an early age into believing in socialist fairness and then are fed a daily dose of disinformation to sustain those beliefs.

When given a fair playing field and an ability to help Americans understand the reasons for our positions we win four times out of five.

Our enemy is institutions like the liberal controlled media, Hollywood, higher education, CBS, NBC, ABC, PBS and CNN. It's lefty institutions, organizations and Foundations that provide funding, resources and moral support.

We fiddle with these bungholes like ANSWER while conservatism burns around us.

Take away their voice and funding and you take away their ability to wage battle.

Everything else is just window dressing and feel good stuff to make us beleive we are accomplishing something.

Hi. Just sitting down after a long day. First off, I advised Protest Warrior not to venture into the ANSWER rally. Nor were any FReepers encouraged to go with them on their venture. The D.C. Chapter secured permits for the Capitol and Pershing Park for our rally and counter-demonstration.

Both events were peaceful (save for one whackjob who tried to disrupt the rally at the end; the cops took him away.)

If the protest warriors were violating ANSWER's permit, then ANSWER should have done what we do when that happens to us: Encourage them to leave and get the cops when they don't.

Our track record for these events is good. Noone has been hurt at any of our rallies; none of our people have been arrested; and the law enforcement has been excellent.

By doing this, we are sending a message of support to our troops and to folks around the country that the left does not own the streets and that we will not allow them to do again to our morale and resolve like what they did in the '60s.

It's your choice to sit on the sidelines, but we'll keep taking them on--peaceably and legally.

Bill, I have been fighting this war of strategy for five years, since the March for Justice. One of the problems we have is we do not recognize who are enemy really is.

Most FReepers recognize the enemy quite well, IMO.

Our fight isn't with ANSWER...

Yes, it is. Amongst many fights.

Our enemy isn't the DNC...

It most certainly is. One front of many...and one of the most critical.

Our fight is for the hearts and souls of Americans...

There we agree, but we have to find the resources to fight on EVERY front. Take it to them on THEIR GROUND before they bring it to us, just like our war against the Islamo-fascist terrorists.

...and our enemy is the established liberal institutions that propagandize and pollute the minds of good intentioned people.

Agreed. But you're just naming more critical fronts...all battles that MUST be fought if we are going to restore and defend our institutions of republican self-government. It isn't either/or. And the fact is, the conservative movement is not equipped at this point to fight these battles, and seems unwilling, generally speaking, to expend the kind of resources that will be necessary to do so. Conservatives are a bunch of cheapskates who are getting what they are paying for.

When given a fair playing field and an ability to help Americans understand the reasons for our positions we win four times out of five.

Yep. At least. But we're not even on the field in most cases--meaning the Left wins those battles 100% of the time.

Our enemy is institutions like the liberal controlled media, Hollywood, higher education, CBS, NBC, ABC, PBS and CNN. It's lefty institutions, organizations and Foundations that provide funding, resources and moral support.

Yep. But you don't beat something with nothing. The only way to undo those is to provide a positive alternative of our own. Not being done, except in a very few cases.

We fiddle with these bungholes like ANSWER while conservatism burns around us.

Time for a new fire-plan then, eh?

Take away their voice and funding and you take away their ability to wage battle.

Hell, we have 'conservative leaders' spending their time giving voice and funding and real political power to leftists like Arnold and tearing down statesmen like Tom McClintock. So maybe the problem is with our leadership, Bob.

Everything else is just window dressing and feel good stuff to make us beleive we are accomplishing something.

Window dressing is important if you ever want anyone to come in to your store to buy what you're selling. But you better make damn sure you have some inventory when they do come in. At this point, there are lots of bare shelves.

And I say all of this who has given just as much thought to these issues as you have.

Bob;

I know that as much as I dislike Mike Savage, he and I agree on one thing this is War, political and cultural War for the heart of our Republic.

You and I close in age, I think, it started when I WAS BORN at the end of WW2 and will continue until we win.

"Our enemy is institutions like the liberal controlled media, Hollywood, higher education, CBS, NBC, ABC, PBS and CNN. It's lefty institutions, organizations and Foundations that provide funding, resources and moral support."

Recognize the phrase "long march through the institutions?"

The problem you correctly recognize is linked to ANSWER by being linked to the communists and by being crosslinked back to our media and educational institutions. Don't you see?

ANSWER and its marchers are covered by big media because they approve of it.

By counterprotesting, we are taking on the institutions that you identify. It really is ground zero.

The challenge is to get our message out using their media. "Earned media."

Bob, if we simply throw up our hands in defeat and say, "Well, the liberals control 80% of the means of information dissemination, so let's not even bother to get out there" - we will most assuredly lose.

A Google News search on "DC Chapter" Free Republic reveals 141 references to news articles across the country and around the world, that mention the DC Chapter of Free Republic's rally and counter-protest:

Arizona Daily Sun, AZ - Beckley Register-Herald, WV - Helena Independent Record, MT - Idaho State Journal, ID - Frankfort Times, IN - The Ledger, FL - Middletown Press, CT - New Britain Herald, CT - New London Day (subscription), CT - NapaNet Daily News, CA - Lorain Morning Journal, OH - Billings Gazette, MT - Albany Times Union, NY - Carlisle Sentinel, PA - Fort Lauderdale Sun Sentinel, FL - Milton Daily Standard, PA - Toronto Star, Canada - Diario Digital Juárez, Mexico - Arizona Republic, AZ - Dunn County News, WI - Topeka Capital Journal, KS - Times Picayune, LA - Rocky Mount Telegram, NC - phillyburbs.com, PA - Fredericksburg.com, VA - Washington Times, DC - NBC5.com, IL - Dayton Daily News, OH - Huntsville Item, TX - Henderson Gleaner, KY - Atlanta Journal Constitution, GA - News Journal, TX - The Porterville Recorder, CA - Munster Times, IN - Rapid City Journal, SD - Santa Maria Times, CA - Guardian, UK - Times Daily, AL - Wilmington Morning Star, NC - Appeal-Democrat, CA - Tuscaloosa News, AL - ABC News - Boston Globe, MA - Huntsville Item, TX - Fort Worth Star Telegram, TX - Milton Daily Standard, PA - Dallas Morning News (subscription), TX - Richmond Times Dispatch, VA - Dunn County News, WI - San Jose Mercury News, CA - WDRB, KY - WIS, SC - Washington Post, DC - Montgomery County Record, PA - Fredericksburg.com, VA - Appeal-Democrat, CA - Munster Times, IN - Rocky Mount Telegram, NC - The Porterville Recorder, CA - News Journal, TX - Rapid City Journal, SD - Santa Maria Times, CA - Guardian, UK - Dayton Daily News, OH - Grand Forks Herald, ND - Duluth News Tribune, MN - Wilkes Barre Weekender, PA - Wichita Eagle, KS - San Francisco Chronicle, CA - Aberdeen American News, SD - Belleville News-Democrat, IL - Macon Telegraph, GA - Centre Daily Times, PA - Columbus Ledger-Enquirer, GA - Akron Beacon Journal, OH - Fort Wayne News Sentinel, IN - Biloxi Sun Herald, MS - Appeal-Democrat, CA - MSNBC - Salon (subscription) - KFSN, CA - KABC, CA - Montgomery County Record, PA - News 8 Austin, TX - Nzoom.com, New Zealand - CNN - CNN International - WCIV, SC - The Porterville Recorder, CA - Santa Maria Times, CA - Boston Channel.com, MA - KATV, AR - Newsday - KOTV, OK - Stuff.co.nz, New Zealand - KFSN, CA - San Diego Union Tribune, CA - Boston Globe, MA - Reuters, UK - The Olympian, WA -

Further, a Google News search on "Kristinn Taylor" reveals 261 references to news articles that quote him as the spokesman for us, regarding the DC Chapter's rally and counter-protest.(Don't worry, everyone. I won't list all those.)

Not bad work, for the "few dozen" of us who attended the rally and/or the counter-protest. I think the point is clear that, if nobody steps up and stands up for our side - the media is not going to come looking for us to report on an opposing view to the "peace" protester.

As it is, a "few dozen"

I agree that those you mentioned in your post about who the enemy is are certainly the enemy. But right now, ANSWER et al, is most definately our enemy as well, at least here in Fresno. They are personally attacking us.

"...One of the problems we have is we do not recognize who our enemy really is..."

That is correct- we don't recognize who our enemy is - it's us or rather the infighting that goes on between conservatives. We have to stop it and start pulling together. Otherwise we are going to loose more ground than we have taken!

The descriptive phrase about conservatives "like herding cats" is no longer acceptable. It's time for us to grow up and take responsibility and behave like adult and make an honest attempt to succeed - the only alternative is poverty of heart, mind and body.
