Hammesfahr is not a quack and you know it.
You can also find him on this page:

And more links here, pertaining to Hammesfahr's reputation:

Hammesfahr is not a quack and you know it.

You are wrong in your presumption of what I know. I fully support Terri's parents in their efforts against her wacko husband. I researched Hammesfahr with the expectation that his credentials were legitimate and he was an impartial examiner. I came away with a different impression. The link you provided to his website is further evidence that he is, at best, controversial.

I've seen the videos of Terri. They're limited from a neurological exam standpoint but do show that she can at least track objects with her eyes and respond to visual stimuli, thus proving that she is not in a vegetative state. The videos don't say a lot as to her rehab potential.

But her neurologic status is not the only issue. The big legal issue is who should make decisions for Terri. The next of kin laws at times produce outrageous situations. I have been involved in at least two cases where the next of kin was a spouse who had been separated from the patient and had no contact with the patient for over twenty years!

Terri's husband is a nasty rat. He wants her dead for his own reasons. The law, and Judge Greer, have failed Terri. Her husband has blocked access to impartial medical opinions not just on treatment, but on diagnosis. I hope that the courts, or Governor Bush, can finally appoint someone to examine Terri who is not on the payroll of an attorney or has their own personal agenda.

Two cautions with your links.

(1) The Nobel nominating letter doesn't come from any professional neurological group. It comes from a police organization.

(2) The link concerning Hammesfahr's reputation comes from his own website.

I also had read that Hammesfahr had "Nobel nominee" status, and assumed it meant more than it apparently does.
