I have yet to read anywhere what the prognosis might be of anyone who has already lived this long in a PVS.
The article defines in a cogent and clinical manner the exact definition of a PVS. But it still doesn't present a decent argument for ending or continuing a patient's existing state of living.

However, most of the shrill "Save Terri" types here refuse to understand what her condition means, and think there's still a "there" there.

The article describes the vegetative state very well and precisely. The problem here is that Terri is not in such a state. Watch the videos. Terri is disabled but with therapy she might well be less disabled. She might have been trying to commit suicide, I suppose, by putting an overdose of potassium in her dinner.

The article defines a Persistent Vegitative State but presents no evidence that Terri is in a PVS.
I am deeply disappointed in Reason. I have never seen them put their Libertarian agenda ahead of fact-finding on an individual case before. They seem to be catering to their association with "EndofLifeChoices.org" ahead of reason in this individual case.
I have always respected and embraced the Libertarian mantra of "use no force" except to prevent the use of force, yet here they are condoning the use of force to end the life of a young woman despite the fact that tears poured down her cheeks when her parents told her that her feeding tube was being removed.

Well I tell ya what....Terri's family excluding Michael love her deeply and if they want to take care of her for 100 years that is their business She is not on life support and has committed no crime to be put to death in a very inhumane way

It never ceases to amaze me when I see people refer to Terri as being in PVS. She is NOT!! No one expects her to jump out of bed tomorrow......though I wish to God that she could. She does deserve a fair chance at rehab which her moronic husband has denied her. Her family deserves the chance to love and take care of her.......
I'm so sick of people portraying Terri has being vegetative....it's a shame they don't read the facts of the case........

So, it appears that after 12 additional years, the chance's are 0% of a recovery. And I am gueesing that if "God" was going to perform a miracle, he would have done it by now. So, let this woman pass away in peace and stop the insanity

in my last post, I should have stated my brother confirmed the 3 month reasoning in the article.
