A better angle would be to track down laws pertaining to grounds for divorce and presumption of spousal abandonment.

Bingo. This appears so obvious. How can she be denied a divorce when her husband is living with another woman and having children with her. What woman on earth should be required to remain married to such a beast. Just because Terri is brain damaged does not mean she should loose her ability to divorce an unfaithful husband.

The difficulty is that she is unable to ask for it. The law doesn't provide for divorces that neither spouse has formally requested. Sadly, lots of women freely choose to remain married to severely abusive men, and men whose "womanizing" is legendary even when they're fully conscious and able to speak up (remember, Hillary's still married to Bill).

However, there may be some helpful case law relating to divorces granted on grounds of abandonment, i.e. when one spouse has simply disappeared, or perhaps has taken up with a new partner living as a married couple. It also might be instructive to look into cases where a healthy spouse has unilaterally divorced a severely brain-damaged spouse, and what requirements were imposed in those cases.

Terri responds to familiar voices, BUT SHE IGNORES MICHAEL's. (per Saturday's press conference at Hospice's front lawn.) FV
