[history]
The green Paul Wellstone (search) bumper stickers can still be seen on Minnesota vehicles, a testament of the late senator's popularity, said his son David Wellstone (search).
"He touched a lot people's lives and I feel good about that," the younger Wellstone told Fox News.

Wasn't this the kid who started the chanting at the service with "we will win! we will win!"

You don't boo individuals, so I was not supportive of that. Still, some people did. What can you say? To the audience: "Shut the hell up and show some respect at my Dad's funeral." To the individual insulted "I apologize."
Was that so difficult?

"Terry McAuliffe had his day a long time ago, as far as I'm concerned. His opinion is his opinion. I don't have a whole lot of respect for him," Wellstone said. He better watch which airplanes he gets on, or Clinton may go after him as well.
Slick doesn't care about which party controls the senate, he only cares that he continues to control the party.

Again, the DNC will walk away from upcoming elections with even more wounds than last time but any chance of McAuliffe leaving?

The Democrats lost because they have no class. They showed themselves to be solely concerned with power. And the picture of Bubba and Mondull yukking it up and laughing as though it were a campaign rally was priceless. No, they still don't get what made people mad at them. I have no love for Paul Wellstone or his politics but despite that, the dead deserve our respect and we don't do inappropriate things at a memorial service for them. Its that simple.

"...moments like the booing of then-Senate Minority Leader Trent Lott,..."
They booed the Gov of their own state, Jesse Ventura, and made his wife cry! And didn't they ask VP Dick Cheney NOT to come?

My dad always voted for Paul Wellstone. I never could figure why.

Yes, it was.
Photographic evidence...
I guess he thought it was appropriate to turn his own father's funeral into a political pep rally, but not appropriate to boo. Yep, he's a democrat alright.

For those of you that don't live here. The news has covered this like he was the greatest ever. The scholl kids have songs about him. MPR is going ga ga. I have one god, but I guess some Minnesota people have two.

"...didn't they ask VP Dick Cheney NOT to come?"Yes, the surviving sons, including Mark, asked Cheney not to come. They stayed right in character, didn't they?

"He better watch which airplanes he gets on, or Clinton may go after him as well." My thoughts exactly! You know, Ted Kennedy, who holds alot of power in the DNC, was suppose to be on that plane with Wellstone. Kennedy was in the state stumping for Wellstone, at the time of the crash, but then they had a change in itinerary.
The Kennedy's are the Democratic party. Unlike Ted, Poor JFK Jr. could have won any election he wanted. So sad that he too died in a plane crash.
So many who stand in the way of giving the clinton's total power, seem to die in plane crashes.....odd huh?

Yup... I don't think there can be any doubt that "John John" would now be the Junior Senator from NY, if it weren't for his unfortunate "accident"...

The green Paul Wellstone bumper stickers can still be seen on Minnesota vehicles, a testament of the late senator's popularityI don't think it is a tribute to Wellstones popularity, I think it is becasue you can't get the darn things off. I don't know what they use for glues, but, man once you put a bumper sticker on, it is on for the life of the paint job.

There was a news item a while back about some folks up at the State Capitol in St. Paul that had green and white bumper stickers that said something along the lines of 'Time to park the bus' and 'He's dead, get over it'.
Democrats have *no* sense of humor.
One of my co-workers went to the "memorial" service, and
claimed that he respected him for his passion, not for his beliefs. Seemed a little put out when I mentioned that Hitler had a lot of passion, too, and was about as wrong.

Democrats are interesting. Their funerals are turned political rallies and their political rallies are turned into funerals.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but it isn't the glue. It's like a badge of honor for the 'Stoners. Heck all their yard signs are still up and new bumper stickers have appeared. Green and white like the original - Wellstone, Carry the Dream Forward - or some such nonsense.
