Clark: Terrorism in Iraq has grown since we arrived
Hardball - MSNBC
Posted on 10/24/2003 4:11:01 PM PDT by Qwinn
Just saw this on the bottom of the screen during a Hardball debate between Matthews and Clark.
This must be the single most moronic statement I have ever heard. Has -anyone- ever suggested that Saddam was BEING attacked by terrorists?!

How did he "really" make General?
To: Qwinn
Clark says he was always against the war in Iraq. Surely someone can prove the lie in THAT!
I don't get the fascination with Clark. He looks like a headwaiter.

Wow - Matthews will actually talk about Castro? That should be interesting. Considering his occasional bouts of intelligence, I'm very curious which way he'll go on this one.
Being of Cuban descent myself, this really may be a deal-breaker on whether I consider him deserving the title of RAT or not.

Dear General:
Yes, terrorism is up. But torture and murder by the Iraqi Government is way way down. All in all, if the Iraqi polls can be believed, the people who actully live in Iraq seem to think this was a favorable trade. Too bad you don't agree.

I'm as conservative as they come - but I gotta defend Matthews. I really don't think he's knowingly a liar - I think he's misled. There's a difference.
He's pretty much independent of both parties, I think. Claims to have voted Republican many times, including for Bush in 2000.
There are many times he's come out -strong- on the right side. I've never ever seen him as angry as he is over the Reagan smear. I think he -hates- lying, but I think he is sometimes unable to distinguish the truth from a lie, and thus repeats lies believing them to be true.
We're all guilty of that.
If Matthews is liberal, then Matthews is that incredibly rare, almost extinct animal - a mostly honest liberal.

Gen. Clark's only talents are those important for someone wishing to become a General. Tell people what they wish to hear, flatter their intelligence by never contradicting superiors openly, and have a protective mentor more powerful then your competition and their mentors.
Clark was a nobody, going nowhere until he assisted at Waco. He made a powerful friend, and the rest is history. His smarts are the same as Bill Clintons. He can think a lot, but he cant DO anything.

Chris Matthews has one allegence: Ratings. He will say whatever he thinks will increase his audience. He knows that 80% of those watching will be either Conservative or Moderate, and directs his show accordingly.

You took the words out of my mouth. How did he make general? He sucked up to Bill clinton and did any dirty work the boss wanted done--such as helping incincerate the children at Waco.

Yeah, pretty new.
But tune in right now to Hardball... he's ripping in Hollywood as we speak for smearing Reagan.
Give him this, at least - there are times when ALL the other liberals are lying, he's the only one that tells the truth. And after the Iraq war, he admitted that he was wrong about a military quagmire in Iraq. Never EVER heard another liberal admit that.
I know you can pull up a lot of dirt on Matthews - I've seen a lot of it myself, and he's -infuriating- sometimes. The things he's said about the "16 words" drive me up the wall. But I don't think he's "controlled" by liberal forces. He says what he believes, as misguided as that can be.

Cogent analysis. How would you compare Matthews to Alan Colmes? I find Alan to be close to an honest liberal also.
To: Qwinn
why do people who actually go have A DIFFERENT OPINION
To: Pukin Dog
No way on earth is there anything Chrissie sissie can do to get ratings. They're non existent!
