Awesome Risk...Awesome.

Kinda like an x-file episode were Mulder and Scully find Cigarette mans stubs in the ashtray : )

Fabian...Jacksonian...Neocon.
We see the names thrown around..they are derided as foolish..yet..they are think tank reality in their time periods..evolving to become what..today..and,
how many line up on each side of the 50 yard line.

Low scale conflicts..
On Charlie Rose Late night a few weeks ago...Kissinger.
Charlie asks H.K. about his new book.
Kissinger waxes eloquent.
[Put on your best gravel tone voice impersonation].
"What was imperative in the Yom Kippur war and Arab / Israeli conflict was too demonstrate to the Arabs the *Futility of dependence on Soviet weapon systems"!

Can we at least surmise that this type of thinking is now at work..on a larger scale..ie.."Lets show the world the futility of not choosing the American Corporate geostrategic model".

Will they allow low intensity conflicts to run..to teach the Arab that they are fragmented..and have nothing aside from the oil.
When Euro is pushed on the table..the U.S. can simply burn the game players economy for choosing Euro over U.S. dollar.
Saudi's...The U.S. will withdraw..allow them to secure things their way..as long as the Saudi Kingdom stays connected to the U.S. Dollar.

Russia is swimming in cash now..the old passions to have others come to Moscow to supplicate for ..weapons..geostrategic support.
Putin and Moscow want this to return..but can they find buyers for toys..like SU 30 MKI..new refurbished MBT's..navy export cruise missiles?.

Does Pootey get a "Piece of the action"?

Big red circles around Syria..Iran and Pakistan for 2004.

What does Bush need to get re-elected?
Would Rumsfeld want to be part of that..seeing that He is already getting hungout to dry..with Coleen Powell..and Condi smiling in the wings.
CFR types taking each other aside..."I told you so"!

media momentum..your question concerning Russia and China?

Both have been kinda quiet since the U.N. sanctions ended..their hope to regain oil concessions in West Qurna in south Iraq..Lukoils former holdings.

Music stops....no chair for France?
Russia and China like their chairs..?

I believe ..at least in the interem..if Russia and China are not satisfied..we will certainly hear of it in the media....they will be the ones to see uncomfortable issues remian into 2004 that hurt the Republicans overseas and at home.

Iran and N.K. seem quiet for now..looks like a senior brokers had a nice dinner..and went away happy.
at least for a while : )

>>Who continues to protect Syria and why?

Do we have corroborated evidence of Pak nukes heading for Saudi? I know about the recent reports, but what I read were whispers rather than hard news.

After the Brits and French screwed Faisalpost ww-1..screwed him outa Damascus..the fallout of the mideast..with remodelled Arab miliatries couping the existing gov.
Faisal family gets wiped off the face of the earth in Iraq.

Who is protecting Syria?
Who is liason between France and the U.S.?

England..content with Her B.P holdings in Kuwait..Iraq.
France..she is backroom master of Damascus...but that is not enough ..as it does not generate U.S. Dollars..nor Euro's.

Keeping the Players happy...what a dance.

Pak nukes.
several points I see..please chime In..I would like read your perception.
Pakistanis' crowing 4- 6 nuclear device tests..no one can get a fix on how many were really atomic..and then..were any at *all...Boosted fission devices?

If you want to hurt Pakistan...say you are Israel,..you desire it to be known, that the nukes available in the future..will just be *Low yeild..and we can knock then down...that is if you can even get one over to us in an attack.
The U.S. benefits here too..as Iran has a crappy missile..and maybe a few low yield nukes..and its kinda comical,
"so your gonna nuke the Jews huh?"

Irans Cleric bravado goes silent real quick.
Russia..shrugs its shoulders..don't look at U.S..."You [Islam] wasted 2 decades on killing a few Jews..propping up the Palestinians..now your chickens come home".

India has Israeli phase array radars..and *Boosted Fission nukes..which even Zouth Afrika has...

Pakistan knows it would loose ultimately in a war gone bad.

The media pushes Iran..Pak nukes etc like a threat to the U.S...or Israel..but are they really?

does it just artificially empower these dupe kingdoms into dillusional power imagry ?

I say the U.S. and Israel..and India are messing with their little minds.

danger is Russia and China..pointing this out to them.."There $#@%^%$ you..do you like the sex"?

The CFR screws up..and good people get burned..like Rummsy.

The danger is down the road some RISK...when population values start to collapse the social net.

>>>> Kinda like an x-file episode...

A collection of leads I found this weekend, not well-substantiated yet:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/862716/posts?page=29#29

>>>> "Lets show the world the futility of not choosing the American Corporate geostrategic model".

Indeed, great analogy. But I think it's more than mere corporatism; we're not just battling for markets with a long leash and a deep public feed bowl are a manifestation of a free society's desire to cooperate in building bigger and better things.

I don't think we're at war to defend Enron-like opportunities and interests, but rather to defend the right to try new and risky business models on an international stage. As well as freedom of religion, freedom of intellect, and so forth.

>>>> as the Saudi Kingdom stays connected to the U.S. Dollar.

I'm not confident that they will survive the coming al Qaeda-driven revolution.

>>>> Putin and Moscow want this to return..but can they find buyers for toys..like SU 30 MKI..new refurbished MBT's..navy export cruise missiles?

I think it's clear now that the WMD of choice is propaganda. It's even here on FR. You don't have to look far to find enemies of Pax Americana. I think we were wrong to assume that Communism was the only threat.

The real threat is anti-freedom urges, a kind of recidivism toward the primitive. States like Russia and China are trying to harness this to throw us off balance. They have no illusions of idealism, no brilliant founding fathers, no Magna Carta, no special craving for furthering the cause of liberty. They just want power to offset ours, and they're motivated to find weakness in our own system of democracy (press, education, religious tolerance, judicial precision) to fight us using our own rules.

>>>> they will be the ones to see uncomfortable issues remian into 2004 that hurt the Republicans overseas and at home.

Indeed. And they may cooperate in that endeavor. We as defenders of the free world must root out their influence and shine the spotlight of western media on it. And we need to get the word out to the third world that they are being used as pawns.

>>>> Iran and N.K. seem quiet for now..looks like a senior brokers had a nice dinner..and went away happy.

Whatever happened, I don't expect it to stay quiet for long.

Re: megatonnage, thermo/boosted, I think it's significant but not critical to the discussion. To the crazed, it's all sacred fire of purification.

Re: Rumsfeld -- I'm not so sure he's on the way out. I think that's a nasty rumor being whispered around D.C. by anti-Neocons from among the Dems. He also has cold war era bureaucrats in a tizzy, but it's 4GW now, and they can keep moving up with the program or move out.

Many will disagree with the following.

I believe the Russians and the Americans can be much closer than they are. I do not look upon them as a similar threat to China or even the Saudis.

The peoples of the two countries are very simpatico; in fact, Russia's eastward Siberian expansion mirrors the westward one of the US.

I had hope that after 9.11 we would have become closer seeing we have a common threat from SaudiPak nexus of terror.

The SinoIslami Alliance is the one to fear.

I agree, too. I see no reason that Russia and America need to compete geopolitically in any other way besides economic. If we solve our mutual problems together with India, Japan, and Israel, a very bright future for the human race could ensue.

This totally depends on the Russians. The DPRK situation is critical. If they can reverse it by influencing the bespectacled one to stop developing WMDs, then we might have gotten somewhere. Also, if they can persuade Iran to back off on WMD development there would be real progress if taken together. And if we are not being asked to give up anything not already in our interest to do so, then we have the clencher. I'll believe this when I see it.

And yes, the possibility of an emerging Islamic-Chinese axis is curious; it follows the wild speculation brought forward by some who have read Unrestricted Warfare -- http://web.elastic.org/~fche/mirrors/cryptome.org/cuw.htm

Do you have any solid linkage to expose? What do you think of Dan Mahony's bits at http://www.danmahony.com/binladen1.htm

Meanwhile, long live Balance Iroquois and Cope!

"Walls can start wars, they will not prevent them"

Having presented your case against the wall, what do you propose instead?

The best defense is a good offense.

The American formula for peace is best described as "Peace through strength," where it's a given that "Peace" to Americans means a just peace.

Israel has strength, and using that strength wisely is better than building walls.

"Wars are the second greatest evil that human societies can perpetuate. (The first is dictatorship, the enslavement of their own citizens, which is the cause of wars.)" -- Alice Rosenbaum (Ayn Rand).

Upon reading AR's quotation, it's my thought that the Palestineans are living under an unusual dictatorship, one that has Palestineans enslaved to a cause against Israel, a cause led and fed by those clamoring for another Palestinean state.
