I can show you the federally subsidized apts of 2 Illegal Aliens right now who work as janitors. The second entire family (30yr old Dad, Mom w/2 toddlers and one on the way) was brought up from Mexico by the first and plugged into the system just 2 yrs ago.
We are predominently a conservative minded state, but our embedded bureaucrats are as liberal and Marxist minded as any in NYC, Boston or LA.
I wonder if they know that about half of every thing they sell is produced by slave labor.
Six managers at Tyson Foods, based one town away from Wal-Mart in Springdale, were charged in an immigrant-smuggling case in 2001.Tyson Foods was involved in direct smuggling of illegal aliens. The company and 3 managers were acquitted, despite all the evidence, including 2 managers who pled guilty. One defendant shot himself to death a few months after being charged, and two managers entered guilty pleas early in the case. A jury acquitted the poultry company and three other managers.
I suspect that any case against Wal-mart will be much weaker, since the worst implied in this article is that Wal-mart knew that some of its contractors were employing subcontractors who were employing illegal aliens.
Nevertheless, it's a great publicity stunt to make the headlines and convince the people that our immigrations laws are being enforced.
LOL. Along the lines of what I thought. The Eastern Europeans actually stand a chance of assimilating into mainstream American culture. Can't have that.
It can't. Since Wal-Mart is not the employer, it cannot demand that the workers present them with papers.
As the saying goes, where are are 2 Poles, there are 5 political parties.
However, since Wal-Mart was not the employer, there is no way it could verify the workers' immigration status. That's why I'm very skeptical of this report.
What are the odds the INS will ever see these poeple again?
Maybe because they had some intelligence that there were muslims/terrs among them?
