"You should really examine the content of what you
sponsor and distance yourself from such contentious material."

===

I really would expand this and ask the companies to not only not advertise during the Reagan movie, but put pressure on CBS to not show the movie, or they will pull their advertising from CBS altogether. Something like:

"Dear XYZ company

I urge you to put pressure on CBS, informing them that you will pull ALL your advertising from CBS and its affiliates, unless they agree to not show the Reagan movie, which is a total disgrace, full of lies.

If CBS will show this movie and you will continue to advertise on CBS, I will boycott all your products.

As France found out, grassroot boycotts work.

I hope you will do the right thing.

Sincerely yours,

XXXXXXXX

Your letter should include something to the effect:

Please be advised that buying any advertising at any time on CBS will be pointless as I and my friends are programming our televisions to skip over and block out our local CBS affliliate.

I love that line. I think I will include it.
