Here's the Friday Philosopher's Corner Question. Our topic for today shall be theology.
Question 1) Does God exist? For either a yes or a no answer, support your view.
Question 2) Does Satan exist? For either a yes or a no answer, support your view.
My answers...
1) Yes, God does exist. To me, a universe without GOd would be utterly entropic. The temperature at all points would be 0 Kelvin. No motion or structure would exist.
The overall tendency of the universe is towards entropy. And as Scotty always told us on Star Trek "Ya' Canna' deny the laws of physics, Captain." Something else had to. Absent devine intervention, it gets as cold as h---.
2) No. I've postulated God as the fountainhead of universal order. Life requires order to continue its existence. To maintain philosophical purity, Satan must therefore embrace a concept of nihilistic entropy.
To properly make his case, Satan has to quite literaly chuck himself of a cliff. If I'm right, and profanity is the absence of natural order, H--- could only exist at zero kelvin. It would quite literaly have to freeze over.
No one can believe in God unless God Himself comes to that man and supplies him with the faith necessary to believe
Creation is the reflection of intelligent design...this leads me to the bible...which illuminates all I need to know to grow in a continuing faith..an abiding faith
Changed lives...A personal saving relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ...changes a man's life his words his deeds his thoughts..upon gaining a relationship with the risen Lord you will be changed..and those around you will take notice..(they may not like it...or they may be swayed to the Lord for themselves)
The bible says many will come to him at the judgement saying Lord Lord We cast out devils in your name..We prophesied in your name...to which Jesus will say "Depart from me you evil doers...I NEVER KNEW YOU"
"Wide is the way to destruction and many go there in"....
Jesus also said he saw Lucifer fall from Heaven like a bright star...
We have the bible that tells us that Heaven and Hell exists ..that God the Father God the Son and God the Holy Spirit exist...
We also have Christ's own words...speaking to us about who He is...The ONLY WAY to God the ONLY WAY to salvation
Belief is a gift of God in the person of His Holy Spirit
One cannot obtain it for oneself...or earn it...though it will change your life and you will bring forth fruits as indicators of this sea change...
IMHO, people would do better to focus their efforts on life
before death. That's where thinking can do some good!
Metaphysics is not even good mental exercise - pondering the imponderable, and contemplating the ineffable are no better than day-dreaming.
