It's Just Not Safe to Vote Democratic.
"The single most important matter to me, and one that should be to the whole United States, is terrorism, security of the country, security of the homeland, standing up to those who want to destroy us, and he's doing that better than Gore would have, and I don't know anyone who would do it as well at this moment in the Democratic party." - Former New York City Mayor, and Democrat,Ed Koch
Democrats - "Go to hell America."
"Once upon a time, the most successful Democratic leader of them all, FDR, looked south and said, 'I see one-third of a nation ill-housed, ill clad, ill nourished.' Today our national Democratic leaders look south and say, 'I see one-third of a nation and it can go to hell.' " United States Sen. Zell Miller, Democrat, GA.
Democrat leadership is non existant
Democrats "fumbled the seminal moment of our lives - the terrorist attacks of 9/11 .. [amd] "have failed to approach the problem with the urgency or comprehensiveness that it demands." [President] "Bush exemplified leadership at a time when America was desperate for a leader." Former Clinton federal housing secretary, Andrew Cuomo (D NY),

Vote for the political party which is now in control of the executive, legislature and [arguably] the judicary, yet still hasn't locked down the border with Mexico, reduced any non-defense federal spending and refuses to recognize the fact that the War on Drugs is a 4 decade exercise in futility?
Nah...I've seen better waste come from dogs after they are fed chocolate.

Taking into considering the opinions of many Republicans here in FR, your totalitarian statement doesn't surprise me. ;-)

If you that sensitive, then use the following to help rationalize it:
If he/she has an "R" after his/her name, vote for him/her.
Yes, in politics, winning is everything.
Republicans running against Democrats have earned your vote.
If the choice is between two evils, vote for the lesser evil, even though they are both evil.
Common sense trumps principles, morals, and conscience because even the bad guys have them, as well but they don't resemble yours in any way, shape or form.
Requests for exceptions to the above will be considered on a case by case basis and must be submitted in writing, in triplicate, with adequate justification.

I would like to add to this list of luminaries from the left: "The Clintons are sucking all the air out of the presidential campaigns of the other Democrats." Susan Estrich, Campaign Manager to Former Presidential Candidate Michael Dukakis.

It would be great if they would speak at the Republican national convention next year. I also hear that more conservative 'Rat state legislators are leaving their ancestoral party.

Yes, these are not the best of time for the Democrats. Has Terry McAuliffe won anything?

You're mistaken. Republican majorities in Congress are only 51-49 in the Senate and 229-206 in the House. And the Senate 'Rats are using every trick in the book to prevent them from achieving anything. As for the courts, every Supreme Court justice was confirmed when the 'Rats controlled Congress. Even those appointed by Republican presidents had to get them past 'Rat Senators, who were the majority. If the Republicans controlled Congress back then, we would have a better court. This is proof not that voting Republican is a waste of time, but that we need to vote more 'Rats out of office.

Why hasn't President Bush vetoed any spending bills?

Give me another party that is taking terrorism and national security as a serious issue -- even if you or I don't necessarily agree with the details of how they go about it -- and I'll consider voting other than Republican for President, Senator, and Congressional Rep.
I live in Florida. The shame of it is 2 years ago, I could have considered voting for Bob Graham in today's context.

It wouldn't really accomplish much. Republicans in Congress are still jittery and nervous, partly cause' the "mainstream" media is against them. Giving them bigger majorities will boost their confidence.
