I think you're giving the guy way too much credit. In both trials he just said what his lawyer told him to say ("I want to take care of my wife", "my wife wants to die"). It probably didn't take long for Felos to convince MS to kill his wife, but I believe that's the way it happened.

i understand your point, i'm not trying to give him any credit, but it should be very obvious to officals that he took the money and ran...This is his motivation....and why he wants her dead....

He was trying to off her before he hired Felos but he didn't get very far....If I remember correctly, he hired Felos in 1998
