so I am curious: why is he speaking now? Enough time has passed now and the Admiral is probably more comfortable in sharing his knowledge. As more time passes, and the people involved in the incident become deceased, we may even find out the real reason why Israel chose to try and sink The Liberty with all hands.

Sink it with all hands?
They Napalmed the ship. They did not lanch a full air strike. Israel could easily have sunk it and killed everyone. Instead they tried to render assistance once teh US informed them of teh ship.
Personally, I want the idiot at the NSA shot.

Israel chose to try and sink The Liberty with all hands. Tell me something. If an Airforce planned on sinking a ship, what kind of weapons would you tell them to use? Iron bombs that go through the ship right?
The fact is the planes which took part in the attack were diverted from operations in the northern part of Israel against Syria. They were EQUIPPED with NAPALM. They were SCRAMBLED to the area. They had no intention on sinking any ships. They simply were responding to a mistaken call an enemy ship was in the area, an area from which fire was coming out of on Israel's IDF troops. The fact is they were told no US Ships were in the area.

Admiral Moorer wrote and published numerous articles on the truth of the Liberty incident at the time of the independent panel; this is not a late statement by him but by Ward Boston.
