This is my first post but I felt that I needed to let you know that there is such thing as an AMA discharge. It means "against medical advice". Because a patient cannot be treated against their will they can leave the hospital without being officially discharged by the physician. The physician usually tries to intervene but the patient or the patient's guardian has the last say and the physician must let them go. It is then usually posted on the chart as "AMA discharge". I truly believe this is what has taken place.

The way I read the governor's order, it would be a violation for the hospital to release her under those circumstances.

Yes, you are correct, which is why I am so concerned.

If this should be the case and if Terry had any complications from being without food and water for so long, then the Hospice Home is not prepared to deal with any medical problems she might have.

Thing is .. NO ONE knows what is going on .. NO ONE can get a report on her because Michael has denied release of medical information.
