He'd already quit -- when he removed Terri's feeding tube. I presume he got paid handsomely for it.

I wonder how much he was paid for neglecting her 364 days, 23 hours and 30 minutes every year?

I had wondered, too, if he is the one who removed the feeding tube. Remember the host on coast to coast am promising that, if he had confirmation of who removed the tube, he would announce the person's name on the program? Coast to Coast has around 15 million regular listeners. Maybe that worried the doctor a little too.

I've not seen it reported who physically removed the feeding tube. Probably a nurse. However, Dr. Gambone was morally responsible. He approved or ordered its removal.
