you don't need surgery to reinsert the feeding tube. You can either place an NG tube or reinsert thru the previous hole... feeding tubes get clogged all the time, and have to be reinserted periodically. Even if they "sutured" the hole close, the edges would not heal closed that fast...

Was going to be a new location for the port. I even doubt if they did the surgery for that because they would have had to finish re-hydrating her before they could operate on her.
