An absolute historic miscalculation, perhaps on the level of Hitler invading Russia in winter.Bad history. The invasion began on June 22, 1941, the longest day of the year. Better formulation is as follows:
An absolute historic miscalculation, perhaps on the level of Hitler invading Russia.

The most striking, bizarre, and completely miscalculated event was truly 9/11. Had Bin Laden & Co. kept their powder dry until a WMD was deliverable, this country would have seen a devastation like none other. Instead, "they gave us their best shot," as Ollie North pointed out, with hijacked airliners instead. An absolute historic miscalculation, perhaps on the level of Hitler invading Russia in winter. Also, Saddam was foolish to invade Kuwait before he had the nuclear option. If he had waited only a couple more years, it would have been MUCH harder for us to deal with him. Thank goodness for their impatience.

WOW! This went from Debka to the Times?
I don't want to hear anything bad about Debka anymore...
Really, this is NOT good.

You are correct.

Hitler invaded the USSR on June 22, 1941. Because their advance on Moscow met very stiff resistance, the Germans got to experience the Russian winter.

The Pact of Dung". Don't badmouth dung. In many impoverished places, it is a valuable source of fuel. Well, Saudi, er, never mind.

From the incubator of terrorism in Saudi Arabia, our "allies", the Saudis will now provide nuclear weapons to the jihadi to use on U.S. civilians provided by the Pakistanis who are on the U.S. payroll. Instead of flying airliners into U.S. government buildings and populated towers, the terrorists or jihadis will now have nuclear weapons to use on U.S. civilian "infidels".
The U.S. should take over the oilfields in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia NOW and liberate them from our "noble Saudi allies". Regime change is needed in Saudi Arabia.

There was once a "scandal sheet' in London in 1731, by the name of "The Pancras Boghouse", which once had the comment(about early graffitti though)
"If the smell of turd brings wit to flow, Laud, what would eating of it do?"
May the Saudis be forced to use it for food and not fuel!

Really, this is NOT good. Why is it not good? I have been hearing nothing but praise from the Administration about the Saudis helping us out. You have to remember, it wasn't like a majority of hijackers on 9/11 were Saudi, and it wasn't like we just had a war over WMD in that region and are putting pressure on another country over WMD, and it's not like the Islamic clerics in Saudi Arabia are preaching hate for the west....all I'm hearing out of Washington is that the Saudis are our allies ;-)
