Mom had a '69. She wanted hideaway headlamps and she couldn't get those on a LeMans/Tempest. Ordered the car with the Endura Bumper delete option and the dealer replaced the vented hood with one from a standard Le Mans. She probably had the ONLY '69 with a shiny nose and no hood vents. She traded it in before I reached driving age (I PLEADED and PLEADED) and you may imagine that there has been HEATED holiday table talk over THAT for years and I won't let her forget it. It only had 25k miles on it at the time. The dealer's son who was given the car wrapped it around a tree a week later in the rain. In her defense, her side of the family has a history of "eccentricity", she must not have known what she was doing.
One day....One day....in my garage
TexKat, those cars are real beauties and look like loads of fun. This is my ride, now...
I can't tell you how much fun it is to drive. It's only the 2.5 liter, but that makes it much easier to stay out of trouble. ;o)
RR, I can't tell you how sorry I am that you didn't get your mom's car. But, do you realize what the insurance premiums would have been on a teenager driving that car? Whoa!!!
That is one awesome piece of machinery! It's such a beauty!
Here's hoping you get one very soon!
