The Israel National Radio Family Comes Together to Raise Funds for Arutz 7 tonight with a special broadcast and telethon in the wake of the silencing of Israel's first national independent radio station, Arutz Sheva Radio. After 15 years on the air, a judge has ruled the broadcasts illegal -- despite the station's protests that the broadcasts emanated from international waters and were thus legal.

The telethon will feature a parade of top Israel National Radio broadcasters, such as Tovia Singer, Tamar Yonah, David Kaplan, Eli Stutz, Mordechai Shanker, Phil Chernofsky and Baruch Gordon.

Arutz Sheva has been inundated with your email letters, faxes, internet comments and phone calls expressing appreciation for the station and a refusal to accept the denial of the basic right to freedom of expression.

Arutz Sheva faces a legal battle and prolonged struggle to renew its broadcasts. Call in with your credit card donation and speak your mind on air! Call in toll free: North America: 1-800-270-4288

Wow. Israel needs to work on that free speech thing. They let arabs have TV and radio stations in 'palestinian' territories but their own citizens can't compete?

America helped pay for the hateful Palestinian broadcasting facilities. I don't have any money, but I'll pray for that judge to see some daylight!

The left in Israel pushed Arutz Sheva to be banned. They say they are "racist."

Due to this, Arutz Sheva cannot get a broadcasting license, therefore the Gov. has a right to tell them to shut down.

There is no oversight of the security of their broadcast waves, so the fear is that it can affect Ben Gurion's airport communication facilities.

just stay on one neutral frequency. They should also bomb all Palestinian broadcast stations.
