Wurmser's status as a favored protege of arch-hawk and former Defense Policy Board chairman Richard Perle at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) also speaks loudly to Middle East specialists, who note Perle's long-time close association with Cheney, Pentagon chief Donald Rumsfeld and Rumsfeld's chief deputy Paul Wolfowitz.
And sure enough:
Wurmser, whose Israeli-born spouse Meyrav Wurmser heads Middle East studies at the neo-conservative Hudson Institute,
And then there follows a discussion of a paper written... by his wife.
Relevance, you ask? Oh, but this paper was an "Israeli connection."
And just to conclude:
Wurmser also gave thanks to Irving Moskowitz, a major casino operator and long-time funder of Israel's settlement movement, whom he described as a "gentle man whose generous support of AEI allows me to be here".
There you go: as is customary, the author acknowledges financial support provided in writing the book. Of what relevance is it whom else that donor supported? None whatsoever. Unless the point here is that they all --- Perle, Wolfowitz, this new guy --- work for Israel.
The word "neo-con" is used as a synonym for "Jew in government." That is the whole point this article has made.
Note however, I have a Merriam-Webster 1985 edition dictionary(who goes out and buys a "updated" dictionary without cause) that defines neoconservative as "a former liberal espousing political conservatism".
I accept the Merriam-Webster definition.
