Oh I agree. My grandmother was in a nursing home. The things that I saw there were horrifying. Take into consideration WHO is working in these homes and what education they have to have to care, and I use that term lightly, for the elderly and infirm. Here in NC you take a 6 or 8 week course then a test to get your certification. Most of the people who do this are undereducated to begin with. The turnover rates in these places is astounding. They don't pay well, the patient per CNA is often double that which is legal. I could go on and on.

One thing I want to make absolutely clear. For those who have loved ones in these facilities, BE ACTIVE in your loved one's care. The patients whose families aren't active are the patients often neglected in some fashion.
