What is it about "effective immediately" that these people not understand?
What're you, kidding? These are people who can look at the Bill of Rights and see "right to abortion" and "separation of church and state" but not "right of the people to bear arms shall not be infringed."
These are folks who can read Marx and see heaven, read Rand and see hell. They can read Buckley and see idiocy, read Garofalo and see genius. They see justice in suicide bombing, and oppression in a protective wall.
They see art in pornography, and oppression and hegemony in Hawthorne. They see humanity in Mumia but not in a newborn baby. They romanticize squalor and keen in anguish over a WalMart. Can you really be surprised by this??
Have you ever been in a hospital. "May I please have a bedpan?" "I'll get it for you right away." Two hours later the patient is still waiting to relieve a ready to burst bladder. "I really need my next dose of tylenol." "You will have it in just a minute."...as the patient waits yet another hour since requesting the tylenol the hour before. How about, "You will be going down to x-ray in few minutes." Four hours later the patient is still waiting in the wheelchair to be taken down. I'm convinced that hospitals think they are God and therefore live by God's concept of time. (To God a day is like a thousand years and a thousand years like a day.)
With this practice already firmly in place, how easy it would be for them to claim they are carrying out the order immediately but still stall quite a long time.
