I can't stand Joe Buck - ever since his "homering" when the Giants beat the Cards last fall. He sounded like he was attending a funeral while the Giants were celebrating.

Gee, I guess that could have been because the fact he lost his father last season, and on top of that DK died just days later.
There was a lot of emotion involved in hoping the Cardinals could win it all in honor of two great men.

I happen to like Joe...I heard his first ever broadcast all those years ago....I can't stand Tim though.

Well, of course that's a factor, and I certainly understand what the team went through that year. It was awful, and I teared up a lot, watching Jack Buck's post-9/11 PA announcement when the season resumed. It was beautiful.

Not being a Cardinals local, I only hear him when paired with McCarver, who really irritates me.

I realize it was an extremely emotional season for him and the team, in several unbelievably tragic ways. I would have liked to hear a more neutral announcing job, though, given that it was a network, not a local, broadcast. Not a big deal, and I know that what his family, Darryl Kile's family, and the team and fans went through that year was more important. I meant no disrespect.
