Anyone know where I can get a list of which Senators voted for and against? Thanks
To: agrace
Just heard House Speaker Johnny Byrd on the Hannnity show. He said that now that Jeb has signed the bill, he hopes the people on the ground in Pinellas County are moving swiftly to restore Terri's feeding tube before it's too late for her. Amen.

I thought maybe the language about the Guardian Ad Litem was addid to prevent Michael Schiavo from remaining as sole guardian over Terri in the future. If that was even part of the reasoning, whoever introduced the change gets all my praise.
To: Qwinn
ad litem What does that mean? Does the state take over guardianship, and they appoint whom they want? Could it be someone from Terri's family, or is it more likely to be a government organization or government person? If its a government person/org, how do we know they won't pull a Greer???
Thanks for ansering my questions. I just got home and am trying to get caught up on the lated.
It was great news to see that the session had been moved up and PASSED!
Truly YHVH has worked through many people and made this possible. May YHVH shine upon and bless all of you that have worked so hard and so persistently.

Failed.......the husband asked a Judge to issue an injunction ...in other words he wants the state to butt out.

It's my understanding that a Circuit Judge (not Greer) appoints a GAL. The GAL will make recommendations to the Governor about his ward's care.

I got this straight from the horse's mouth:
"The fighting's over. Terri has won. House passed it moments ago. Felos filed for an injunction in front of Greer and was DENIED. The Executive order should be signed any minute now."
Ahhhh.... :)

Apparently M Schiavo's attny headed to court to try to get an injunction against Jeb's law but he was denied, thankfully.

Well I assume Felos will be going to the FLA appeals and SCOFLA. I would not rule out wild card until SCOFLA has responded.

Ahhhh.... :) It's truly a miracle. Now we pray that the hands of those who can minister to Terri's immediate physical needs will move swiftly.

"Terri could be fed in a matter of hours, perhaps"
I hope so! This story is so upsetting. I have told everyone at my job about Terri being starved. Everyone was outraged and wondered why the news is not reporting this story better.

"Oh, I have the words all right ..... but they're not the kind that a lady speaks nor the kind that are acceptable on FR." I hear you kayak. I'm afraid I have been guilty the past few days of very unladylike thoughts about that sorry specimen of humanity.

There was no reason for the judge to grant an injunction against Governor Bush. There is no irreparable harm that could occur to Felos or Schiavo if the tube is reinserted.
They could challenge the law's constitutionality, which might take several weeks at a minimum. Meanwhile, Terri stays alive until this is finally resolved.
It was a major victory today, but I don't think it's finished.

Yes, a guardian ad litem is appointed by the state. And no, we don't know they won't pull another Greer, but I believe I heard someone say that the ad litem would report straight to Jeb. Stay tuned for that one.

Well... currently and legally, no. But if Terri is ever rehabilitated, and can explain some things about what happened 13 years ago.... *grins evilly* "Irreparable harm" doesn't sound like a bad idea to me.
