They ought to get Khaddafi to speak. Kofi Annan is an okay speaker, but hardly interesting.

The result of the UN's skewed thinking on issues of self-defense and terrorism is aptly demonstrated by the bombing of the U.N. headquarters in Iraq. They really thought that playing nice and appearing pacificistic was the best way to protect themselves. They learned otherwise.

"...by unilaterally invading Iraq..."

In the early nineties, IRAQ invaded SAUDI ARABIA and the U.N. authorized the use of military force to expel the invaders. After suffering severe military losses, IRAQ agreed to a cease fire. THE WAR DID NOT END!

After more than a decade and more than a dozen U.N. resolutions which found that IRAQ had not satisfied the terms of the cease fire agreement, President Bush went to the U.N. and said that if the U.N. did not enforce their own resolutions, then the United States would!

Annin and the rest of the pimps of the U.N., who are content to wine and dine themselves at public expense in New York City, thought that President Bush was only another Billy Clintooon. THEY WERE VERY MISTAKEN!

The present coalition efforts are NOT AN INVASION of IRAQ, but they are forcing IRAQ and the useless U.N. to end the war that IRAQ started in the early nineties.

"With the proliferation of terrorism, we're going to need to cede more influence and authority to the U.N."

I expect Candidate Kerry would agree with this statement. Be afraid!
