This exercise demonstrates to liberals where they are scoring points against conservatives and the president.

I'm not sure it's helpful.

I already knew I didn't like Clinton, Kennedy, et al.

The only new thing here is OUR letting THEM know where they're drawing blood.

The purpose of the list is to show where Liberals are saying or doing something DANGEROUS to the fabric of American morals or purposes. The points aren't giving them points for doing it. Think of it as a way to show how dangerous the statment is, and indicating to Conservatives where we need to attack and organize against. Drawing blood against Conservatives? No, draining life out of the US and we need to stop them.

As a conservative, I understand that the intention is ENTIRELY honorable. My concern is that it DOES provide ALSO a measure for where WE THINK they're drawing blood, and where they should keep up their attacks.

It would be nice to be able to compile the list, but then to make the dissemination of the list only to those on your side.

You also must understand however that the list is compiled by people who post on this forum and to other posts that go 300 to 400 posts long talking about events that these different people say and do. This also would show they are drawing blood. The lists intentions are to focus attacks on the ones viewed each week to be most detrimental to the cause. At that point if we all just cried that they are hurting us we would show that they were dangerous to our cause. If we use the insight and info to go after them then we are compiling a list of enemies much like Bush did with his Axis of Evil speech, and then acting against them.

Flurry also had a good argument about this on another thread the other day.

Interesting list. I personally would have ranked Biden higher due to his unconstitutional mess known as the RAVE Act.

Good points.

What about the difference between raw intelligence (discussion on threads) versus processed intelligence (your list)?

As much as I love my friend, xzins, I think it's a fabulous list. They're amassing an incredible indictment against their new brand of 'patriotism', IMHO.

Keep on EXPOSING THE LEFT.

It's not that I oppose the list....it's that I have concerns that it provides vital information to the enemies. That's my concern.

SonLiberty, please don't misunderstand. I commend the list and the effort. I'd just like to find a way to keep processed intelligence (last post) out of the hands of the opposition.

You said that they could get the info anyway just by reading the threads and comments here. I agree with that. But they'd have to boil it down and process it; and that takes time.

We have processed it for our own purposes, but I'm sure the opposition would find it very useful.

But I probably am just thinking that Free Republic has far more influence than it actually does. I doubt that demonRat leader's look at this site too often. (Probably just paranoia on my part.)

When asked to participate, I had some concerns also. I didn't want to be part of a list that just hacks people that we disagree with. But sonso has made it focused where we are taking what the individuals are saying as dangerous.

It is a lot more constructive than just criticizing Hillary for her pantsuit (which is mean spirited and self demoting IMHO). I think the list turned out pretty well for the first week.

Gum

Don't get my wrong as well. I understand where you are coming from. The list is voted on weekly by a number of Freepers who are just a slice of the FR masses. They go through posts, news papers and sites and then vote on who they think are the most detrimental to cause of Conservatism. My biggest argument against this being useful to Liberals is that they can easily go to any talk radio show, or thousands of bloggers as well as FR and easily see what they are talking about most. I am curious however to see what thoughts you have on improving the list to be better for the fight. My goal is to be as usful as possible in the next election and this is just one of many ideas I've had. I agree with Annie that this exposes the left rather then helps them and is an education tool.
