I am not in the medical field so I only know it because of my participation on an online support group for parents of kids with disabilities. One sad case there was of a child who hung himself in his closet, to make his mother feel sorry she'd yelled at him, at age 13, and was found pretty quickly by his 5 year old brother. He was in a "light coma" after that. There's a "stage" description or some such thing that I don't remember, one of those Roman-numeral things the medical types love.
What I remember of the descriptions of him fit what I have read about Terri. He could try to communicate sometimes, smile, object to things, and swallow if spoon fed. THEY got all the therapy for him that they could manage. I don't know how he's doing now as I haven't participated in that group in a long time. I might join again just to see how Terri's case is being viewed there.

As it turns out, apparently Judge Baird (not Greer) heard this case and DENIED the relief requested.
Terri wins this round.
Buckle up though this rollercoaster ride is not likely over.

PRAISE GOD!!! I also pray that His Name be magnified in this so that all who "have ears to hear" will stand in awe of His mercy and power.
