You are simply wrong, on this score.

If and when I have the time, I'll try and track it down for you.

The laws are clearly regarding UFO's.

Actually, as I recall, there was a text book at the AIR FORCE ACADEMY WHICH HAD A CHAPTER ON UFO'S and how to report them etc. I think it was all even unclassified until it became better known.

Well, I'm a lawyer, and I know when law smoke is being blown up my...keister. And I don't accuse you personally of that. I think that people start repeating things, in good faith, that aren't quite accurate, and that the correct meaning eventually gets lost after enough repetitions. But just think about that logically, for a second. Is it lawful to take something away from a "regular" plane crash? I doubt it. So why would you even need a law directed specifically against UFO's? All you do is say "it is unlawful to remove, touch, or relocate in any manner any debris, component, or material from any aircraft of any kind (as defined in ......) without first obtaining authorization from the FAA (or whomever)." That's the way laws are written. And that's just the type of law that a law person might characterize as barring taking evidence of a UFO crash.

Actually, as I recall, there was a text book at the AIR FORCE ACADEMY WHICH HAD A CHAPTER ON UFO'S and how to report them etc. I think it was all even unclassified until it became better known.

Same thing. It's loose definitions again. I went to the Naval Academy, but I know the type of report to which you're referring. It would be a general report for any aircraft, not just a UFO. At least in terms of UFO's as being extraterrestrial. And there wouldn't be a whole chapter on it.

Of course you are taught some stuff relating to reporting certain things. But its not nearly as specific as you imagine, nor would it make sense if it were. What kind of stuff would you report about any object you saw? Size, rate of travel, direction of travel, altitude, color, lighting, etc. I can't imagine why it would be different for a MIG-25 than for a "UFO", because you don't know its a UFO at the time you see it.

Now, if you mean "UFO" only in the sense of "I didn't know what it was when I saw it", well, what's so nefarious and conspiratorial about that? I have no doubt there there is a report on which you can report some characteristics about something you saw that you couldn't identify. And there should be, for some pretty mundane reasons. Why is the fact that such reporting may (or may not) be taught at USAFA have the slightest relevancy to a conspiracy to conceal the existence of extraterrestrials?

I was taught in the Marines how to analyze the crater from incoming artillery rounds. You may not know what caliber the round was that landed, but you fill out the form with other info that some folks may use to determine that. Is the fact that I was taught how to report "Unidentified craters" suggested of some nefarious cover up?
