October 21, 2003 -- An economic foot-in-mouth disease could still be lurking in the water at the Treasury Department.

In less than a year, a second Treasury Secretary is making recurring public misstatements about America's dollar policy.

John Snow, the railroad heavyweight who took over the top economic post eight months ago, spent his weekend dancing around the latest public flip-flop on the White House's currency strategy.

In an interview, Snow said he'd be "frustrated and concerned" if U.S. interest rates didn't rise soon.

The rates are not rising because there is no demand and no spending. There is no spending because the American worker is broke and fearful.

If they would stop the hemmorhaging of jobs overseas and stop the importation of foreign labor, Americans could once again enter the marketplace to buy. You're killing your own market, stupid.
