BASIL WROTE: "Few of us, hopefully, will never have to live the life all of this family has had to endure. It's really hard to make judgements of any of them, having never walked in their shoes."

I AM RESPONDING: "Hi, Basil! I think you are aware that I HAVE walked in their shoes...or at least in some VERY much like theirs. My severely mentally and physically disabled daughter has nearly died SEVEN TIMES! She neither walks nor talks, does not feed herself and wears diapers. She has been on OXYGEN, had a TRACH and RESPIRATOR, a FEEDING TUBE and a BROVIAC LINE, etc."

I AM ADDING: "I UNDERSTAND!!! And I FAVOR REHAB THERAPY for Terri.

BASIL ADDED: "Anyway you look at it, this is a heart-rending situation."

I AM ADDING: "It is, but when it is YOUR child, it is EASY to love them---just the way they are---and try to do EVERYTHING you can to HELP them."

I AM ADDING: "It is VERY clear to me who REALLY LOVES Terri and who is just acting like he is trying to COVER UP for probable CRIMES AGAINST TERRI."

No--I didn't know about your child, and God will have a special place for both of you one day. It takes a special sort of person to deal with what you have been given, and it's good to know that there are loving parents such as you out there.

I hope no one got the impression that I wasn't on Terri's side--far from it!
