It is a soft-war... social science and social engineering are soft-sciences... very powerful because they fall under the radar of most citizens.

Dennis deliniates Right and Left stances but gives no hint at what will happen next. I submit that the tension will snap when one of the following happens:
If we see some horrible embarrassment in Iraq or Afganistan or even Philipines... like a barracks bomb. This will send the middle to the left and against Bush.
If, on the other hand, we see a mall bombing or a few buses blown up on US soil by jihadists, the middle will surge to the right and support Bush. When moderate democrats feel personally threatened, they will drop their insane anti-American party leaders overnight.

I note with some interest that there is nothing on the WOsD in Mr. Prager's articles. Kind of hard to bring such a topic up in the discussion since it is one of the few areas where both sides of the aisle are in agreement.

The Right believes that poverty is largely unrelated to Islamic terror. I respectfully disagree with the author. Poverty in the Islamic Nations is a very large contributing factor to terrorism. A people with "zero" perspective are easily manipulatable - thus we have a system in these countries which keeps the vast majority in abject poverty AND blames that condition on the "Great Satan". This has occurred for so long, that even the "affluent" young men feel a hatred for the evil US and likewise blame us for the impoverishment of thier brethren.

We need to get this over with so we can move on.
