They are talking about the amendments to the bill right now.
amendment (not bill) amendment #1 was adopted.
Moving to discuss amendment #2.
Of course, if they amend the House bill, it will have to go back to the House committee and be reconsidered. This could go on for days and a compromise may never be reached.
Those Senators who amended this bill want his lady dead.

I sure hope not...I get they are trying to make it apply to others including & besides Terri...hopefully their moving it up a few hours will get this up and moving today.

Feed is back... but many of the Senators do not know the facts of this case!!! What!?! You have got to be kidding... where have they been.
To: 4Godsoloved..Hegave
The more amendments, the more differences with the House, the longer it will take to move back through the committees. They might even put in a "poison pill" that the House would never agree to and will kill the bill.
Like I said, those Senators who voted to amend this bill wanted both the bill and Terri DEAD.

I hope this is the right thread-- CNN Headline News is asking for emails, they said they will read some later. The question is (paraphrasing) "should the Florida legislature intervene in Terri's case?" (That's just the gist of it, not the exact question.) The email addy is
kathleen&renay@cnn.com Ack, I hope I got the address right, I will keep watching and see if they repeat it. I suggest people keep it brief and polite, remember, they're looking for soundbites, two or three sentences max might be read on air.
If this isn't the right thread, can someone help me find the right one?
Incredibly, CNN is actually talking about this case today, and they are referring to Terri as "brain-damaged", while over at FOX they are still calling her "comatose", WAKE UP FOX!!
Praying that there is still time!

3 people want to ask questions... didn't catch all the names...
First guy asks does it prevent the current guardian from going back to a court... no it does not.
LOST FEED AGAIN!

"Judge George Greer may not legally be a Judge in his current capacity "Also, Judge Greer did not qualify to be on the 1998 ballot because he did not "qualify" in the statutorily-prescribed 5 day period. Nor did he file his FS876.05 Oath to the Laws and Constitution according to its nonexistence [based on] the records of where it should have been filed." 239 posted on 10/19/2003 6:22 PM EDT by pc93

112.52 Removal of a public official when a method is not otherwise provided.--
(1) When a method for removal from office is not otherwise provided by the State Constitution or by law, the Governor may by executive order suspend from office an elected or appointed public official, by whatever title known, who is indicted or informed against for commission of any felony, or for any misdemeanor arising directly out of his or her official conduct or duties, and may fill the office by appointment for the period of suspension, not to extend beyond the term.
(2) During the period of the suspension, the public official shall not perform any official act, duty, or function or receive any pay, allowance, emolument, or privilege of office.
(3) If convicted, the public official may be removed from office by executive order of the Governor. For the purpose of this section, any person who pleads guilty or nolo contendere or who is found guilty shall be deemed to have been convicted, notwithstanding the suspension of sentence or the withholding of adjudication.
(4) If the public official is acquitted or found not guilty, or the charges are otherwise dismissed, the Governor shall by executive order revoke the suspension; and the public official shall be entitled to full back pay and such other emoluments or allowances to which he or she would have been entitled had he or she not been suspended.
I still don't see why Jeb has not stepped in on his own, yet. Did Judge Greer play any part in the 2000 Presidential election?
Meanwhile, the FL Senators don't know what's been happening in their own state?? This is too bizarre. God please help Terri!

Response from sponsor(?) this is a special case - bill is narrowly defined - it's hard but it's important - are we setting precedent - we set precedent everyday - we set policy every day... We need to push that envelope pretty hard in this case...

He seems to think the courts could not have got it wrong.
3 issues to vote against:
legislature and gov have said we are pro family - how dare this leg & gov substitute their judgement to next of kin
ARGGGG!
how many people have heard all the evidence? This case has gone to a judge - how are we supposed to make determination of Terri's health.
ARGGGG!!!!
think of the precedent we are setting... if we pass this bill on this case, shouldn't this apply to all similar cases which we have already ruled on
ARGGGG!!
What a jerk!!!
