Thank you for contacting me to express your concerns regarding Terri
Schiavo. I value your input on this important matter.

During the past year, the Florida House has faced difficult choices in many
areas. We have crafted legislation regarding the budget, healthcare,
workers’ compensation, and prescription drug relief for Floridians.
Presently, legislation is being considered to address the victims of legal
dehydration and starvation deaths.

Every Floridian has a right to determine their own treatment, and anyone
who has executed an advanced directive has the right to have his or her
instructions carried out. Where there is no disagreement among family
members, present law does not appear to create reasons for legislative
intervention. However, the Terri Schiavo case raises troubling concerns
that the proposed legislation would address.

The bill passed by the House in Special Session “E” on Monday night would
allow the Governor to issue a moratorium to stop contested legal
dehydration and starving deaths in Florida in certain instances. The
moratorium would give the Legislature time to assess our current law.

With our pledge to protect the most vulnerable, I strongly believe that
someone needs to be a voice for the voiceless like Terri Schiavo.

Again, thank you for contacting me. I will take your comments to heart and
give them careful consideration as we address the issue of contested legal
dehydration and starvation cases.

I Thank you, My Family Thanks you......You have proved yourself as a true HUMAN that does follow his heart. I am SO proud of you, I can not seem to thank you enough for what you have done for Terri. My heart felt Thanks go out to you and all the Government officials that appoved your bill. But what next? Are you going to appoint a new guardian for her? We, as citizens of USA need to know. What is next? It stated in your bill that a new guardian would be appointed. I am not big on legislature nor am I big on governent protocol so I have no clue!!!!! But I,as well as thousands of others have to ask, WHAT NEXT???? Gov. Bush, and staff, I am so proud of you all. I am so proud of the Senate. I am a Texan and I realize that this is not any of my concern when it comes to statutes (if that is what you want to call it). But THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart and my families heart. Thank you for her family!!!!!
But Please go a little farther and do something about the guardianship and Michael. Just think about one thing, PLEASE, think about the fact that HE has commited ADULTRY!!!!! And I am not real sure about Florida laws, but in reality.........IT IS WRONG. I am watching the superficial news casting on CNN and it is so one sided it is not even fathemed by myself nor my family. How can someone even justify what they are contimplating doing???? She has a WILL to live, it might not be the kind of will that you all want or need on a lagal standpoint, but her WILL TO LIVE should speak for itself......She has a story, she needs to tell her story.......GIVE HER THE OPPOURTUNITY!!!!!! My family and myself still pray for Terri and her family, I pray for the moral well being of OUR country. I WILL not stand by and watch the downfall of society without a fight. Whether my voice is heard or not. I HAVE tried!!!!!!!!

Once again I want to remind you that no matter WHAT they all say, a human life, no matter what state they are in, is worth saving. Who are WE to decide what a productive life is???? Are you willing??? I am not....I couldn't even tell you that I am willing to decide whether or not to end my own life if I were in this perdicament......I HAVE CHANGED MY MIND. There are cirrcumstances...and they need to be addressed.. AND for that, MY HUSBAND would have no RIGHT to do such a thing (make that decision) But, My Mother (God rest her soul) WOULD!!!!!!!She is MY MOTHER!!!!!!!! She has all the say in the world. If her Mother and Father are willing to take care of her, then so be it!!!!!1Let it be said, let it be written!!!!!!! MAKE HIM DIVORCE HER!!!!1 Why hasn't he done so, if he wants out so bad?????? Why not divorce???? Why not give it up??????
Sorry for getting on my soapbox, but, and there is always a but right..........I want you to REALLY search your soul now, the first step is done, now on to bigger and better things. This is a 10 day stay (only if I read this right) which means you have time to produce a NEW bill that would affect not only Terri, but many more. Go a step farther, this is not jeopordizing your election, it is only securing it. And think about farther precidents!!!!!!! Texan to Texan once again!!!!!!
