Hooray for the gentleman speaking now.... I hope the previous speaker rots in hell, with Michael Schiavo.

I have no particular interest in Florida, but it's kind of ridiculous to call them the "death" state.

Very similar laws exist in other states.

To REALLY protect yourself and family (MghinTN's worry)
from being "trapped" by court findings and decisions about what you wanted,

MAKE A LIVING WILL! State, in writing, while you are fully competent, what measures you want taken on your behalf should you be severely brain-damaged or otherwise incapacited, with small hope, if any, of recovery.
If you want nutritional support and intervention under any or a particular set of circumstances, say so.
If you want any other measures taken to keep you alive, say so NOW, on paper, witnessed and notarized.

Only if you are declared dead will anyone have the right to pull your "plugs" , IV's and tubes.

I personally want no such measures taken if I am like terri, or in a stare where hope of recovery meaningful to ME is lost, and am having a will drafted so no one will ever second guess my husband or family members on the point.

Anyone who has strong feelings about Terri's case should protect "them and theirs" with a clear expression of their wishes.

O Lord, who turns the hearts of kings like water however Thou wishest, turn the hearts of these legislators swiftly to grant Terri, and others in situations like hers, a reprieve.

Better that he repents.

He just mentioned the strangulation angle

"If it was YOUR daughter YOU would want that opportunity so whether it is legal or not, I'm telling you that you should support that bill and give them the opportunity!!"

HE ROCKS!!!!!

Earlier guy said it violates the separation of powers, where will this lead us, etc.

That's BS or stupidity. That is saying that a court order is sovereign over all. That right or wrong a court order cannot be defied. There are three branches of government and then there is The People. The People who all branches of government are answerable to and, Judge Roy Moore has it right, the People are answerable to God. Gov. Bush can acknowledge God and act on his conscience in this matter and so can the Fl. legislature. The Declaration of Independence (the organic law of this nation) demands it. The only question then is 'what do their consciences tell them?'
