Perhaps you are right, but who were the Miami Dolphins in 1972? They were a six year old team with no tradition, no history, yet they made their own history with a perfect season. The Marlins went from nothing, to World Series champion, tore back down to nothing and built back to the World Series- all in the span of ten years. I don't think that they should be blamed for not getting out of the way of the Cubbies. You got to earn your way in.

There was also the intrigue of "The Perfect Season," while the team had character -- remember "Butch and Sundance" (Csonka and Kiick)??
