I find it hard to believe Bonds was flailing away at pitches two-feet outside at any time in his career. Perhaps there are Freepers in the Oak/SF Bay area that could address any such Bonds/Soriano similarities.

Soriano MUST learn patience soon, or else Herr Steinbrenner will be shipping him out despite his gaudy regular season numbers.

I wish the Yankees would hire Don Mattingly as batting coach next season. He could teach Soriano about patience at the plate.

I was actually referring to raw numbers -- home runs, steals, batting average. Not plate discipline, which, as I mentioned, is one of Sori's big weaknesses.
