McNabb: 9-23 for 64 yards, 1 interception (whole team was 34 yards passing, don't understand difference). Bailed out for the second week in the past 3 by defense and special teams.

Third straight absolutely awful performance by McNabb. Nobody dares mention the elephant in the room (McNabb, is way overrated).

Rush was right for the third week in a row, not because McNabb sucked, but because, as usual, NO ONE will say so.

From out of the blue, McNabb is claiming an injury is holding him back. He hurt is wittle hand.

29.1 quarterback rating today for McNabb.

Did you notice how the commentators were trying to say that, although McNabb isn't doing so good, it's not really his fault?

The Giants suck and will go nowhere, as long as Jim Fassal is the head coach. And that comes from a 43 year Giants fan.

Rush was right about McNabb. Purely as a QB, McNabb has been overrated since he first joined the Eagles.

No, didn't listen or watch. Just noted the hushed, slip-it-in-at-the-end tone of this recap.

Ty or Coy Detmer (don't remember which one they have) could do better with his eyes closed)

Oh, and 3 sacks for Mr. Mobile.

I read 47 net yards passing - yards lost because of QB sacks (-17 in today's game) are substracted from the total.

McNabb is overrated. No question about it.

That said, Go Eagles! (This one was never in doubt. I knew the Birds had it in the bag...)

I think he has complete about 30 passes in 3 weeks. How long before the receivers start pitching a fit. Or the defense gets tired of carrying the offense?

If the "D" didn't have Bobby Taylor back this week I think the Eagles probably lose. But your point is well-taken nonetheless.

Personally, I think McNabb should sit for a half and watch AJ Feeley, just to take the pressure off him. No one's suggesting Donovan not continue as the starter, but this is probably only going to get worse unless Reid allows him to regroup.

Good point !

Conway got New York on the board with a 39-yard field goal into the wind that just cleared the crossbar. Cornerback Will Allen set up the score by intercepting a third-down pass by McNabb at the Eagles 29.

McNabb finished 9-of-23 for 64 yards.

back to eib, that is ! ...

No one will dare say the truth. Rush was absolutely right about McNabb. Now they have to come up with an injury to squirm their way out.

You know the funny thing is that now people are gonna blame Rush for making McNabb come under so much pressure it resulted in his ability to be reduced.

The odd thing is had noone cared what Rush said then no one would be asking "Is McNabb overrated?"

Something is wrong with him. McNabb was never the best in the NFL, but he was far, far better than this. I personally think his mechanics are messed up as a result of the bulk he put on this offseason, but it's possible an injury could be playing into it (but I think the injury's just a convenient excuse).

It was much like the feeling 25 years ago when quarterback Joe Piscarik fumbled as the Giants were running out the clock. Herman Edwards picked up the ball to give Philadelphia an unexpected win.

I remember that game well. I was watching the game with my father (both Iggles fans). With only seconds left to play, I got up to change the station (we didn't have remote control in those days!) when my father said "wait...leave it on....it's not over yet!" I told him that Pisarchek would just take a knee, and run out the clock. Instead, for whatever reason, he tried to hand the ball off to Larry Cszonka. The ball was fumbled and scooped up by Herman Edwards (the current Jets coach) who ran the ball in for the touchdown in what became known as "The Miracle of The Meadowlands".

If anyone else had the numbers that McNabb had they would lose their starting job. Sixty four effing yards? I have heard excuse after excuse offered about why McNabb is playing awful; from his hurt thumb (BTW - Steve McNair has a broken finger, but he leads the league), its the wide recievers fault, or the coaches play calling. Its about time someone pointed out that Rush was right.

If he's really injured, sit him down, and give him time to get better. It's not like they can't win without him (see last year).

I DO want the guy to succeed, and in fact I think he's being hurt by the LACK of criticism. Nothing makes a real athlete respond like having his/her ability questioned. It forces a top-to-bottom analysis of what is being done right and wrong.

As in the rest of life, we do no one any favors by coddling them.
