The big thing is for the meltdown to occur AFTER Howie gets the nomination...
Patience is a virtue. Wait for the proper time to hope for Howie's meltdown. If it happens at the right time, we have a chance at a landslide.

Well, you have a point. However, the dems seem to have no trouble replacing candidates when they come a cropper (I remember Thomas Eagleton being dumped from the McGovern ticket after the convention.) Therefore, I do not think we would draw that much advantage...unless he melted down during one of the debates.
That's too close for my tastes. Dean is tempermentally unfit to be president, and I do not want him even close to the possibility of getting elected.

Darn! I missed it :-(
Everybody loves Barbara Bush.
Out of curiosity , does anyone remember the radio program Mrs. Bush had, where she would read a childrens book over the airwaves? I think it was called "Story Time with Mrs. Bush". It was on Sunday nights when George Bush Sr. was in the White House. She's a great story reader. It's funny what stays in your memory.

Dean is tempermentally unfit to be president, and I do not want him even close to the possibility of getting elected. You make a good point, but I would dearly love to watch him self destruct next October. I honestly think he would be the 'most fun' for us to run against. He's such a loon. And he has a swarm of loons, here in IA, supporting him.

I'm on the alert for Dean's inevitable temper explosion I don't think it will occur as long as Dean is in the lead for the nomination. Even people with tempers rarely get angry when some one they are defeating gets on their nerves.
What will really anger Dean is when he is behind Dubya and gets hit about it by the media. Remember Fox is in this game for the first time as the leading media power.
When I was in the media every kid reporter wanted to someday be Brokaw, Jennings or Rather.. or at least Karry King. But no more. Today they want to be O'Reily, Limbaugh or Hannity. Fox is the big player and the kids coming up in all the small stations want to be players.
Do you recall how Dan Rather made it? I was there when Rather pushed Nixon into saying "I am not a Crook!" That is what brought Rather to the top of CBS.
Climbing from the reporter pool to the glamorous positions means coming to the attention of Roger Ailes or Clear Channel. That means taking a Democrat candidate down like Rather took Nixon. Democrats have no experience with a hostile media. They will not handle it well.
The times they are a changing. Just 3 short years ago a Republican could count on nothing but attempts do destroy him by the media. In the next two elections that situation will be reversed.
Fox and talk radio have fixed it so the Democratic free ride from the media days are over.

Thanks for these positive insights. Bush and FOX have put the spotlight on media bias, and it's a hoot to see the guilty denying the undeniable. Interesting times.
I do remember the Rather/Nixon moment. It's past time for Rather, Jennings, Brokaw, Woodruff, etc. to head into the sunset imo.

Referring to W Barbara says:
"I told him he should run but first get his feet off my table."
Asked does he (W) usually take her advice: "He still doesn't take my advice, that dirty dog!"
ROTFLMOA!
Gee, it is great to have a normal family running things for a change.

I wish that Barbara Bush could have run for the Office of President. She is a fine outstanding remarkable woman. After all, her influence, care, love, nurturing, gave us two very good Presidents, one by marriage the other through birth. Awesome lady.

Right on, Barbara! What I enjoyed is that she had to tell the prez (her son) to get his feet off her table located in hers and the former prez' bedroom. Then proceeded to call son a "dirty dog" for not listening to her.
