Some observers feel that George W. Bush -- who in his first three years as president has proved to be the most instinctively pro-Israel president ever -- is poised for an impressive showing among Jewish voters in 2004. Realistically, while Bush will no doubt receive a somewhat higher Jewish vote total than he did in 2000, history tells us that the Democratic candidate, whomever he may be, will score a decisive majority among American Jews.
For the life of me, I will NEVER understand this! I've decided that Jews who support democrats fall under the six out of ten rule. (These days, six out of ten people are idiots - and that's a fact :)).

Same reason Barry was re-elected in D.C.
Same reason Street will be re-elected in Philly.
In other words, there is no sane or rational reason for such self destructive behaviour.

I think the Jewish vote goes consistently Democrat because they overwhelmingly support the welfare state.

The Jewish vote is ridiculously loyal to the democrat party because they feel that they were let into the political process with FDR and Truman, whereas there were many blue-blood, country club Republicans who did not offer the same. Fair enough. However, by today's standards the democrat party houses some of the most virulant anti-semites this side of Pat Buchanan.
