Democrats for Arnold?

California's recall election was bad news for Democrats in more ways that one.

Not only did Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger manage to take control of the statehouse, but both he and conservative Tom McClintock drew unprecedented support from key Democratic voting blocks.

Nationwide, more than 90 percent of African-Americans voted for Al Gore in 2000. But two years later, according to a Zogby survey, 23 percent of black Californians backed a Republican in the recall race [17 percent for Arnold, 6 percent for McClintock.]

Worse still for Dems, nearly 40 percent of Hispanics voted for either Arnold or McClintock, who garnered 30 percent and 9 percent respectively.

Union members, whose leaders are assiduously courted by Democratic Party leaders, abandoned Democrats Gray Davis and Cruz Bustamante in droves, with half the unionized electorate backing one of the two Republicans.

Questioned about the results by TownHall.com columnist Donald Lambro, pollster John Zogby said, "Democrats ought to pay attention to these numbers because the unthinkable has happened."

Joseph Crane contributed to this report.

But Terry McAulliffe told me that if a Democratic Governor is replaced by a Republican one that the President is in trouble. I don't understand. You mean, Davis getting his tail whipped was a bad thing for Democrats? *evil laugh*

And it's all Bush's fault. /src

Take a peek over at the DU - funny how much Arnold's victory is being spun now from the left where as in the first couple of days it was vilified.

Fox News is reporting that California Attorney General Bill Lockyer voted for Arnold for Governor, voting Republican for the first time in his life. His best quote was that he didn't vote for Bustamonte because "I know which politicians work hard and which ones don't".

The democrat party is a bizarre and often pathetic collection of single-issue special interest groups. Their last presidential convention in Los Angeles saw Boy Scouts booed on the same stage where a collection of oddball union thugs, radical environmentalists, poverty pimps, trial lawyers, mean-spirited homosexuals, blacks, hispanics, scared senior citizens, and hollywood elites cheered the rock star arrival of their impeached idol.

It's a party out of touch with mainstream America. National and economic security are our primary concerns.

The truth is that Bustamante was the worst possible candidate the Democraps could come up with. He had zero interest in anyone other than Hispanics and Tribal leaders, plus he was a dishonest ,unappealing hack. I wouldnt take these numbers too seriously.
