Before you two get carried away on some notion of compromise, consider this.
There is no way to verify whether someone is illegal or not at a DMV site unless they answer truthfully to a direct question.
Now ask yourself if you believe these aliens who broke our nation's laws crossing the border would volunteer to tell the truth of their status at the DMV counter.
Then ask yourself how likely it is that vocal activists such as this Nativo fellow will organize a coaching for illegals on how to lie their way to a license and a voter's registration card at the sametime.
Does your compromise still sound practical?
