There has always had a lump in my throat when these stories popped up. The kids explanations were let say a bit creepy.. And the memory regression, aided by hypnosis, was unbelievable.

Dorothy Rabinowitz of the Wall Street Journal has reported extensively on this case. The parole board here made the decision based upon actual innocence.

In 2001, the state Board of Pardons unanimously recommended commuting Amirault's sentence, saying there was "substantial doubt" about his guilt. Acting Gov. Jane Swift refused.

I was wondering why there were no comments from any of the 16 kids, then I saw the $20m the families were awarded.

Wonder if just one of these now-adults has questioned their wild accusations. Do any now second-guess the 'therapist' that drug these accounts out of them?

Can't remember the 'therapists' name, but didn't she have some tie to Reno? This therapist is the one that should be in jail, or at the very least, lose her license and be sued by Amirault family, but that won't happen.

I have some friends who recently went through this same type of tragedy. They had a day care in their home for many years. Suddenly allegations of inappropriate touching by the husband began to emerge. Knowing the couple as I do. I thought the allegations were bogus. But the police and the DA pursued the investigation and it eventually went to trial. After 2 years of living under this shadow, nearly losing everything and going through pure hell, he was found innocent of all charges. They're putting their lives back together now, but it's a bitter subject to discuss with them.
