Animals take care of their young - by and large, they don't feed their infirm - they die, because feeding them does not occur to them.
I have a better solution - the moment that someone is as infirm as Terri Schiavo, all those people who insist that there is a moral duty to keep the husk alive can, by law, be required to assume all responsibility for her care, and her spouse (and/or any children) will be absolved of all financial and decision making responsibility. That way, y'all get to put your money where your mouths are, and you can quit freeloading your particular brand of morals on the backs of people who don't share your views.

I would be more than happy to do whatever I could, even bringing her to my home. I WILL contribute to her care if she is spared since her parents have spent everything they have over these years.
Why are you so angry and bitter? Has something similar happened to you? I have been through several cases with my own family - to pull the plug or not(total life support) and believe me you learn your priorities. If there is any chance - you take it!

I hate to break it to you, but your suggetion has already been acted on. Her parents have offered exactly that to Michael Schavio. Divorce Terri, give us custody, keep the money, we'll take care of her.
Gee are you surprised?
