Did this guy just have a mini stroke or something here:

"Whether or not Valerie Plame was engaged in serious work inside the Agency's Non-Proliferation Center, one has to ask what in the world her bosses were doing in allowing her husband, a public figure, to accept a non-secret assignment which potentially had a public profile? Journalists regularly learn the names of clandestine-service officers. Senior agency officials may well have thought very little of Ambassador Wilson's "yellowcake" mission to Niger, which explains CIA director George Tenet's statement about his ignorance of it. They may have thought Wilson an ideal candidate for this low-priority, fact-finding mission. But neither is an excuse for employing a spouse of an undercover employee if senior CIA officials thought Plame's clandestine work was valuable. The head of the Non-Proliferation Center ought to be fired for such sloppiness."

If he has any connections with the Farm, he should know that Foley, Plame's boss, as you noted was fired, retired or resigned in August.

The article up to that paragraph was pretty well written. After that, he ignores Foley and what happened to Foley to go after his mantras re the CIA.

After Robert Baer's See No Evil and Bill Gertz' Breakdown, it's obvious CIA should be CYA.

"We're not always right, but we're never wrong."

The agency is hopelessly involved in saving its ass and embarrassing Bush.

Having failed to detect and prevent 911, it is mainly concerned with justifying that failure.

Which means denying that the Atta-Al Ani meet occured, that Ramzi Yousef was the Iraqi agent Woolsey charged, that Khalid Sheik Mohammed was part of that (Laurie Mylroie), that Terry Nichols met Yousef (Jayna Davis), that Salman Pak was used to train the hijackers--breaking on FR from MEMRI today.

Alan Foley? Who hired Craig Livingstone? Sweet tea? Ahem, the U.S. has no intelligence agency.
