That was a good article. The Shenzhou V is comparable to an Apollo capsule. I even saw some pics of their future plans for a lunar lander. It's a Shenzhou with propellant tanks and landing gear attached to it. Their technology is already sufficient to go anywhere in cis-lunar space.

They will probably need to perform earth-orbit rendezvous to build up sufficient propulsion capability to get out to the moon, but I suspect Shenzhou-6 will be tasked with working out those techniques...
