PLANO, Texas -- Soon after its decision in Lawrence on private sexual acts between consenting adults of the same gender, the Supreme Court this week decided that next year its bucketful of gasoline for the eternal flames of America's "culture wars" will be to decide the constitutionality of "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance.

For the non-believers the hypocrisy lies in the fact that they use money , for every coin issued is stamped "In God We Trust."

outreach ministries include prisoners and their families, troubled teens, woman-to-woman counseling, literacy, immigrant outreach, the newly unemployed, pregnant single women, Dallas's urban poor.

These outreach ministries are totally unLiberal because the essence of the Liberal's outreach and caring is that thegovernment shall do the outreaching and caring. It is absolutely wrong for private persons or organizations to help anybody deemed less fortunate because if private parties help, that is charity which is demeaning and a violation of human rights whereas when the government does it, it is an Entitlement. The recipient has rights to the aid.

There's a huge difference between secular humanists-the far-left liberal atheists who make up the "secular wing" of the Democratic party-and atheists in general. Secular humanism is as faith-based and irrational as the most fanatical forms of theistic fundamentalism, and similarly depends on a refusal to look reality in the eye and say "this is the way things are, and we have to deal with it the best we can." Nor, for that matter, should one think that all atheists and agnostics on the right are libertarians or Objectivists. I consider myself a small-c conservative because I believe in a limited and responsible government, and a strong sense of public morality.
