Roman Catholic bishops are exposing British Broadcasting Corp.'s anti-Catholic bias. In a statement distributed today in the Vatican's daily bulletin, the bishops' conference of England and Wales decried the offensiveness of two BBC programs aired right before the pope's silver jubilee. A "documentary" that aired Monday, "Panorama: Sex and the Holy City," claimed "while the pope preaches peace and life, his teachings and the actions of the Catholic Church (in opposing abortion and contraception) bring about widespread poverty and death," the bishops noted. "Kenyon Confronts," which aired Wednesday and was about cases of clergy abuse more than 20 years old, "regrettably persisted in using a single, uncorroborated source of proven unreliability as the basis for serious allegations against the Church." The taxpayer-supported leeches at BBC denied their anti-Catholic prejudice, just as they have denied their blatant anti-Blair and anti-U.S. prejudice.
